What is the recovery time after a hysterectomy?

Recovery times vary depending on the type of hysterectomy. An abdominal hysterectomy typically requires 6 to 8 weeks of recovery. A vaginal or laparoscopic hysterectomy usually requires a shorter recovery time of 2 to 4 weeks. During recovery, it is important to avoid heavy lifting and other strenuous activities.

Will I experience menopause after a hysterectomy?
