The centres

10 cancer treatment centres across Hyderabad

Oncologist consultation, day-care chemotherapy, pre-cycle blood tests and follow-up run at every one. Tap a centre name for its timings and directions.

Areas served include Begumpet, SR Nagar, Punjagutta, KPHB, JNTU, Bharat Nagar, Mehdipatnam, Attapur, Rethibowli, Lakdikapul, Khairatabad, Basheer Bagh, Vanasthalipuram, Nagole, Hayathnagar, Jubilee Hills, Madhapur, Film Nagar, Suchitra Circle, Alwal, Dundigal. If yours is not listed, call and we will name the closest centre.

Choose on distance. Consultation and chemotherapy visits repeat through a course, so the nearest centre is almost always the right one.

Why families choose CION

Cancer is all we do

Not a department inside a general hospital. Four things follow from that, and they are the reasons people give when they tell us why they came.

17Oncologists Panel

A panel decides, not one doctor

Medical, surgical and radiation oncologists review the same case together. One specialist deciding alone is the most common gap in cancer care.

1Dedicated Cancer Coach

A Cancer coach you can call

One person who knows your case, for the questions between visits. Most of what worries families needs an answer that day, not a doctor.

41Locations

Treatment close to home

Ten centres in the city and 31 more towns beyond it. The visits that repeat happen near you rather than requiring a journey each time.

0Surprises

The cost said out loud, early

An estimate for the whole course at the first visit, with your insurance cover confirmed while you are there.

At every centre

The same care, whichever one you choose

Nothing depends on which of the ten you walk into. The panel, the plan and the follow-up are identical.

CONSULTATION

See a specialist on your first visit

An oncologist, not a junior doctor first. Free, no referral letter, and your existing scans and reports are read rather than repeated.

DAY CARE

Chemotherapy without being admitted

Cycles run in a day-care bed. You arrive in the morning and go home the same evening, with one attendant able to stay throughout.

THE PANEL

17 oncologists behind every plan

Medical, surgical and radiation oncologists review the same case together. That happens regardless of which centre you attend.

Before you commit anywhere

How to judge any cancer hospital

Including this one. A family choosing a hospital has almost nothing to judge on, and these four questions are what actually separate them.

A round table with four chairs, for a case review
01

Does a panel review my case, or one doctor?

One specialist deciding alone is the most common gap in cancer care, and the hardest for a family to spot.

At CION: every case, every time.

An operating light, for asking about surgical volume
02

How many of my operation does the surgeon do a year?

Volume in your specific operation is the closest thing to a quality measure a family can actually ask for.

Ask for the number, not the years.

An itemised sheet, for asking what the whole course costs
03

What does the whole course cost, not one procedure?

A quote for a single admission tells you almost nothing. Ask for the cycles, the tests between them and the scans.

At CION: estimated at the first visit.

A telephone handset, for asking who you can call
04

Who do I call at 9pm when something changes?

Most of what frightens a family between visits does not need a doctor, but it does need an answer that day.

At CION: a named Cancer coach.

Ask these of us on the phone, and ask them of anywhere else you are considering. A checklist that only flatters the people who wrote it is not a checklist. The longer version, with the fifth question, is on the how to choose a cancer hospital page.

Cost

What it costs, and when you will know

Three things in order: why nobody can price it yet, what you are told at the first visit, and how it can be paid.

A pathology report, which the cost estimate waits on
BEFORE THE REPORT

Any figure now is a range

The total depends on the cancer type, the stage, which treatments are needed and how many cycles. None of that is known until the pathology report is in, so a firm number quoted before it is a guess.

Where a whole-course cost estimate is talked through
AT THE FIRST VISIT

An estimate for the whole course

Not for one procedure. It covers the cycles, the tests between them and the scans, so you can plan for the whole thing rather than meet it in pieces. The estimate itself is free.

A desk where payment paperwork is checked
PAYING FOR IT

Insurance, instalments or your own funds

Bring your policy details and the desk will confirm what your cover includes. Instalment options can be arranged, and setting that up before a course starts is far easier than partway through.

If cost is what is stopping you, say so on the callNobody is judged for asking, and the conversation costs nothing.

Before you go

Questions people ask about the centres

Everything that comes up once somebody has a list of addresses in front of them.

How many CION centres are there in Hyderabad?

Ten, listed above. All ten run oncologist consultation, day-care chemotherapy, the blood tests before each cycle and follow-up visits.

Pragathi Nagar and Nacharam are the newest. Call for their timings.

Which centre should I go to?

The nearest one. Consultation and chemotherapy visits repeat through a course, so distance matters more than anything else when you are choosing.

If you are unsure, call and say where you are — the coach will name it rather than asking you to work it out.

Do I need a referral or an appointment?

No referral, and the first consultation is free. Call ahead so we can hold a slot, and bring whatever reports you have.

Do I have to be admitted for chemotherapy?

Usually not. Day-care chemotherapy runs on a day-care bed: you arrive in the morning and go home the same evening, without being admitted.

Which oncologist will see me?

That depends on the diagnosis rather than the centre. The same panel of 17 reviews every case, and all their profiles are on the oncology doctors in Hyderabad page.

Where do radiation therapy and PET-CT happen?

At partner centres, which have the shielded installations these need. Our radiation oncologists set the plan and we book the appointment for you.

How does private insurance work here?

Bring your policy details to the first visit. The desk confirms what your cover includes before treatment is planned, so you are not finding out mid-course.

Can treatment be paid in instalments?

Instalment options can be arranged so a course is paid over time rather than up front. Ask at the first visit, because setting it up before treatment starts is far easier than partway through.

What if I live outside Hyderabad?

Consultation and day-care chemotherapy run at 31 more towns across Telangana and north Andhra Pradesh, so a course does not mean relocating.
