Leukemia is a medical condition marked by an abnormal surge in white blood cell production, outnumbering other blood cell types. Typically, white blood cells are our body's defense against infections.

However, in leukemia, these white blood cells become faulty and ineffective, rendering them unable to protect the body from illnesses. This abnormal accumulation of non-functional white blood cells disrupts the body's normal blood cell production process, leading to various health complications.

Leukemia Symptoms:

Fatigue

Excessive fatigue occurs because leukemia cells disrupt the normal production of red blood cells, leading to anemia and reduced oxygen transport.

Fever

Leukemia can cause fever as a result of the body's immune response to abnormal white blood cells.

Infections

Leukemia impairs the immune system, making individuals more susceptible to infections due to fewer functioning white blood cells.

Weight Loss

Unexplained weight loss can be a symptom, often related to a loss of appetite caused by leukemia or its treatments.

Nosebleeds

Nosebleeds may occur due to low platelet counts, which hinder the blood's ability to clot.
