What is Inflammatory breast cancer?

Inflammatory breast cancer is a rare type of breast cancer. In this, the cancer cells block the lymph vessels of the breast.

When we use the word inflammatory cancer, it looks as if the skin over the tumor is “inflamed”.The skin has a red, violet-colored appearance, swelling, and other skin changes. It looks much like an infection. 

How is inflammatory breast cancer diagnosed? 

Inflammatory breast cancer diagnosis involves techniques such as: 

Biopsy

It is a condition where tissue area from the breast region is excised and examined in a laboratory. This will help in the treatment plan and determine the grade of cancer. These all things will aid in the treatment process of inflammatory breast cancer. Biopsy is widely used in cases of inflammatory breast cancer.

Mammography 

The method uses X-rays to create detailed pictures of the inside of the breast area.

Ultrasound 

The use of sound waves to create detailed images of the body.
