Acute leukemia usually needs treatment to start within days of diagnosis. Our haemato-oncology team fast-tracks the diagnostic work-up for suspected cases.
2Can chronic leukemia be managed with tablets?
Chronic myeloid leukemia is typically controlled long-term with daily targeted tablets and periodic blood monitoring. Many patients lead a normal life on therapy.

Most leukemias are not inherited. A few subtypes show familial tendency; your doctor will advise if family screening is relevant.
