1How much does a tumour board review cost in Vizag?
Nothing. In Vizag, the consultation and the tumour board review are both free, including for patients diagnosed or treated at another hospital. Any new tests, and any treatment you choose, are paid for separately.
2How long does a tumour board review take?
It depends on your case and on whether your reports are complete. Ask your CION doctor at the consultation when your case will be discussed and when to come back for your plan.
3Can I send my reports instead of visiting?
No. A CION doctor needs to see you before your case goes to the board, so please visit with your reports. If travel is hard, ask about a video consultation first.
4Can my family come, and in which language is the plan explained?
Yes, bring a family member to your visits if you’d like support. CION’s doctors speak Telugu, Hindi and English, so ask for the language you’re most comfortable with.
5Who decides on my treatment?
You do. The board recommends a plan; your CION doctor explains it, answers your questions and helps you decide. The written summary is yours to share with any doctor, and there’s no commitment to start treatment at CION.
6Is a tumour board review the same as a second opinion?
Not quite. A second opinion is usually one more doctor’s view of your diagnosis and plan. A tumour board review brings several specialists together to agree on one plan.
7Which cancers does CION’s tumour board review?
All the cancers CION treats, including breast, cervical, ovarian, uterine, lung, blood, stomach, colorectal, liver, prostate, kidney, and head and neck cancers.
