How it works
How the scan fits into your care.
1
See your CION doctor
Your doctor checks whether the scan is needed and which kind is best.
2
The scan is booked
CION’s team books it and tells you how to prepare.
3
Your scan
The scan is done at the diagnostic centre. Most scans take less than an hour.
4
Your doctor explains the result
Your CION doctor reads the report with you and explains what it means for your treatment.
Who reads your result
Your CION oncologist reviews the report with you, and the tumour board uses it to plan your treatment. Doctors you can see in the Vizag region are marked.

Treat cancer with medicines, such as chemotherapy, immunotherapy and targeted therapy.
PET-CT Scan isn’t available in Vizag itself. CION arranges it at a partner centre, usually in a bigger city, and your doctor tells you where to go. Your consultation and follow-up can be in Vizag or by video.
2Is a PET-CT scan safe?
It uses a small amount of radiation. Your doctor asks for it only when the result will help your care. Tell your team if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
3Do I need to fast?
Usually yes, for some hours before the scan. People with diabetes get special instructions.
4Is it covered by insurance?
Many insurance plans cover scans that a doctor has asked for. CION’s team helps check your cover.
