How do you get the PET scan report when you are in a different city?
Ask for the digital report at the time of booking, not after the scan. Most imaging centres send a soft copy by WhatsApp or email, but many families only discover this option exists after waiting unnecessarily.
Ask for both the report document and the image files separately. Your oncologist needs the images to review the scan properly — not only the written summary.

My parent speaks only Telugu. Will the imaging centre staff understand them?

My parent has diabetes. Does fasting for the PET scan need to be managed differently?
A PET-CT requires fasting beforehand, and fasting with diabetes needs to be managed carefully. Tell the imaging centre at the time of booking that your parent has diabetes and ask what they advise about food and medicines on the morning of the scan. Also tell the treating oncologist, who may have specific instructions. Do not assume the standard preparation applies without checking — this is worth asking explicitly.
My parent is very anxious about injections and unfamiliar places. How do we prepare them?
Describe the appointment to your parent beforehand in plain terms: the injection, the waiting period, and the scan itself, so nothing comes as a surprise on the day.
