What shapes the cost of exemestane in India?
Exemestane is a daily hormone tablet for hormone receptor positive breast cancer, usually taken for several years, so the cost that matters is not just one strip but the whole course. In India, exemestane is sold under the original brand name Aromasin and under many generic brand names made by Indian manufacturers. Prices differ widely between brands, pack sizes and places of purchase, and they change over time, so this page does not quote figures. Generic exemestane contains the same active medicine as the original brand and must meet the same quality standards set by the drug regulator. In general, exemestane tends to cost more than generic letrozole or anastrozole, although the gap varies with brand and supplier. The monthly tablet cost is only part of the picture. Over the full course you may also pay for clinic reviews, bone density scans, blood tests for cholesterol and vitamin D, calcium and vitamin D supplements, and sometimes bone-strengthening injections. Younger women may also need regular ovarian suppression injections alongside exemestane, which usually cost more than the tablets themselves. If cost is a worry, say so early. Your oncologist can often suggest a reliable generic, and a pharmacist or social worker can explain schemes, insurance and support that may apply to you. Buy only from licensed sellers
Very cheap tablets from unknown online sellers may be fake or badly stored. Check the pack is sealed, the expiry date is clear and the bill carries the pharmacy licence details.

Is generic exemestane as good as Aromasin?
Approved generic exemestane contains the same active medicine at the same strength and is expected to work in the same way. Differences are usually in the inactive ingredients, colour or packaging. Buy from a licensed pharmacy and ask your oncologist or pharmacist which manufacturers they are comfortable recommending.
Why does exemestane cost more than letrozole?
Prices depend on how many companies make a medicine, manufacturing costs and market demand. Letrozole has been widely available as a low-cost generic for a long time. If cost is a strain, ask whether letrozole or anastrozole would suit you equally well, as they are often interchangeable in early breast cancer.
Can I switch between generic brands to get the lowest price?
