The monthly cost depends mainly on whether you buy the original brand or a generic, the pack size, where you buy it and whether any scheme or insurance helps. Branded tablets usually cost several times more than generics containing the same medicine. Because letrozole is usually taken every day for about five years after early breast cancer, and sometimes longer, small monthly differences add up over the full course. The tablet is often not the largest part of the total cost.
