Aarogyasri-Empanelled Chemotherapy — Centres in Hyderabad

The list of hospitals empanelled under Aarogyasri for chemotherapy changes through the year. A centre that was listed when someone last checked may not be listed today. Verify on the official portal before you travel.

Medically reviewed by Dr. T. Raghavender Reddy, Medical Oncologist, MBBS · DM (Medical Oncology) · MD (Radiation Oncology) · Last reviewed September 2026

  • Lists go out of date fast — Empanelment can be suspended or withdrawn at any time, without public notice.
  • Verify on the day — The official Aarogyasri portal shows current status. Third-party lists do not.
  • Procedure matters, not just hospital — A hospital may be empanelled for surgery but not for chemotherapy cycles — check both.
  • AP residents have a different scheme — Andhra Pradesh families should check NTR Vaidya Seva, not Aarogyasri.

To find an Aarogyasri-empanelled chemotherapy centre in Hyderabad, check the live hospital list on the official Aarogyasri Health Care Trust portal — not a third-party list that may be months old. Empanelment status changes without notice, and travelling to a de-empanelled centre means paying out of pocket on that day.

How do you check if a centre is currently empanelled?

The Aarogyasri Health Care Trust maintains a searchable list of empanelled hospitals on its official portal. Search by district and by procedure — oncology or chemotherapy — not by hospital name alone.

A hospital being listed last month does not mean it is listed today. Empanelment is reviewed regularly. A centre can be suspended or de-empanelled between your visits.

If your treating centre has lost its empanelment, call the Aarogyasri helpline the same day. Continuity provisions exist so that you are not abandoned mid-treatment. Your oncology team needs to know immediately so they can apply for prior authorisation at a currently active centre.

What should I check before travelling for Aarogyasri chemotherapy?

  • Check the hospital's empanelment on the official Aarogyasri portal today — not from a list someone sent you
  • Confirm the specific chemotherapy procedure you need is covered under that centre's empanelment, not just the hospital itself
  • Carry your Aarogyasri smart card or Aadhaar card linked to the scheme
  • Bring the treating doctor's prescription or referral for this cycle
  • Bring any prior authorisation number your oncology team has obtained for the treatment course
  • Call the centre's Aarogyasri desk the day before to confirm they can accept you

Common questions

Frequently asked questions

The hospital where I had my last cycle is no longer on the empanelment list. What do I do?

Call your treating oncologist the same day you discover this — do not wait for your next scheduled appointment. Under Aarogyasri, continuity provisions allow your team to apply for prior authorisation so your treatment continues at a currently empanelled centre. Do not miss a chemotherapy cycle while the paperwork is being sorted. The Aarogyasri helpline can tell you which centres near you are currently active and explain what documentation your team will need.

Can I use Aarogyasri for chemotherapy at a private hospital in Hyderabad?

Yes, if that private hospital is currently empanelled for oncology procedures under the scheme. Empanelment is specific to the procedure, not just the hospital — a hospital may be listed for surgical procedures but not for chemotherapy cycles. Before you travel, verify on the official Aarogyasri portal that both the hospital and your specific procedure are currently covered.

What documents do I need for each chemotherapy cycle under Aarogyasri?

Bring your Aarogyasri smart card or Aadhaar card linked to the scheme, the treating oncologist's prescription or referral for this cycle, and any prior authorisation number your team has obtained. Some centres also ask for a recent investigation report. Call the centre's Aarogyasri desk the day before your visit to confirm exactly what they need for that specific appointment.

I live in Andhra Pradesh. Can I use my health scheme at a Hyderabad hospital?

Andhra Pradesh residents should use NTR Vaidya Seva, not Aarogyasri. Some hospitals in Hyderabad hold active empanelment under NTR Vaidya Seva for specific procedures. Check the NTR Vaidya Seva portal to confirm whether your chosen hospital is currently listed and whether your procedure is covered. If you cannot find an empanelled centre near you, the NTR Vaidya Seva helpline can advise on referral options.

What happens if my treatment is mid-course when a centre loses empanelment?

Act the same day you find out — do not wait for your next scheduled appointment. Your oncologist can apply for prior authorisation to continue your remaining cycles at another empanelled centre, and in urgent cases this can be expedited. Missing a chemotherapy cycle is a clinical risk. Tell your team immediately and let them manage the administrative process while you continue treatment.

Does CION accept Aarogyasri for chemotherapy?

CION centres can accept Aarogyasri for chemotherapy, but empanelment status is specific to each centre and can change over time. Before your first visit, call the specific CION centre you plan to attend and ask their Aarogyasri desk directly. They can confirm current status, which procedures are covered, and what documents to bring. The locations section above lists CION centres near you.
