Leave your number or call the helpline. The care team asks what the report says, which hospital did the test, and which language the family is most comfortable in.

The care team books the specialist who fits the report and tells you who you will see. If another CION centre in Hyderabad suits you better, the same helpline books that instead.

Bring every report, scan CD and discharge summary, even the old ones. The doctor goes through them, examines the patient and explains what is known and what is still missing.

Many people need one or two more tests. You are told which ones, why they matter, and where each one is done.

Medical, surgical and radiation oncologists discuss the case together. You then hear the recommendation, the alternatives and a written estimate before anything starts.
Every case goes to CION’s network tumour board, where these specialists from CION’s centres join your doctor. Ask for any of them when you book.

Consultations and chemotherapy are given at CION Kukatpally. An operation or radiotherapy is planned by your CION doctors and booked by the care team at a centre that does it, and you are told which centre before you agree.
Most chemotherapy is day-care. The patient comes in, blood counts are checked, the treatment is given, and the family goes home the same day. Some treatments do need a stay, and your oncologist says so in advance if yours is one of them.
Families from Moosapet, Sanathnagar, Ferozguda and Bowenpally are booked the same way. Kukatpally is usually the CION centre they are seen at. If Ameerpet, Kompally or another Hyderabad centre is easier for the family to reach, say so when you call.
A first consultation takes longer than people expect, because the doctor reads every report. Come with someone who can listen and take notes, carry the patient's regular medicines, and keep the reports in one folder in the order they were done. The care team can tell you what else to bring when they confirm the time.
Good to know
This page cannot tell you which doctor suits your case. Your reports can. Share them with the care team and they will book the specialist who fits.
Myth
What is true: Many cancers cause little pain early on, which is exactly when treatment has the widest choice. A report that mentions a mass, a growth or a suspicious finding is reason enough to see a cancer specialist now.
Myth
What is true: The doctor who found it may be a general surgeon, a gynaecologist or a physician. Thank them, take every report, and see an oncologist. Good doctors expect this and do not take offence.
Myth
What is true: A second opinion usually takes little time. It either confirms the plan, which brings peace of mind, or raises a question worth settling before treatment begins.
Myth
What is true: Most chemotherapy today is given as day-care, and patients sleep at home. Surgery does need a hospital stay, and your team explains how long before you agree.

No. CION does not run a clinic in Balanagar. Families from Balanagar are seen at CION Kukatpally, the nearest CION centre. Call the helpline or leave your number, and the care team will book the right specialist there and tell you who you will see.
That depends on the report. Medical oncologists Dr. Naresh Gundu and Dr. N. Kiranmayee, surgical oncologists Dr. Sandeep Vajja and Dr. Muralidhar Muddusetty, and the radiation oncologists are part of the CION team serving Balanagar. The care team tells you where and when each one sees patients.
There is no CION chemotherapy unit in Balanagar. Chemotherapy is given at CION Kukatpally, usually as day-care, so most patients go home the same day. If another CION centre in Hyderabad is easier for your family, ask the care team when you call.
Not at Kukatpally. Your CION doctors plan the operation or the radiotherapy, and the care team books it at a centre that does it. You are told the name of that centre, and given a written estimate, before you agree to anything.
Start with a haematologist. Dr. Basudev Pokhrel treats blood cancers such as leukaemia, lymphoma and myeloma, and sees patients at CION Kukatpally. Bring every blood report and any bone marrow report you already have to the first visit.
CION's team helps with cashless insurance and gives you a written estimate before you start. Bring the insurance card and policy papers. If the family holds a government or employer scheme, mention it when you call so the care team can check it for you.
Yes, for a first talk about the reports. Many families start this way when the patient is weak or unwilling to travel. The oncologist still needs to see the patient before treatment is planned, but a great deal can be explained to you first.
No. You can book directly by calling the helpline or leaving your number on this page. A letter from the doctor who found the cancer helps but is not needed. Bringing every report and scan you already have matters far more.
