Each surgeon sees patients in Hyderabad. The care team tells you which centre and day when you book, and later where the operation will be done.

The surgeon examines you and reads your biopsy report, the lab result on a small tissue sample, with your scans. They explain whether an operation is possible, what it would remove, and what life looks like afterwards.

Your case is discussed with medical and radiation oncologists. They agree whether surgery goes first, or whether medicines or radiotherapy should come before it.

Blood tests, a heart check and sometimes a lung test show whether you are fit for an anaesthetic. Diabetes or blood pressure may need steadying first.

The care team tells you which hospital the operation will be done at, how to get there, and a written estimate, before you agree.

Your surgeon operates and sees you on the ward. How long you stay depends on the operation, and you are told roughly in advance.

The removed tissue is tested. Its report decides whether you need more treatment. Check-ups and stitch care can happen back at a CION centre.
Every case goes to CION’s network tumour board, where these specialists from CION’s centres join your doctor. Ask for any of them when you book.

What a clear answer covers: Surgery, stay and tests, given before you agree
At a hospital the care team books for you, which is named before you agree. The planning, the consultation and the follow-up can all happen at CION's Hyderabad centres in Ameerpet, Kukatpally, Kompally, Masab Tank, L.B. Nagar, Tolichowki and Banjara Hills.
The name of the hospital, which surgeon will operate, what the stay involves, and a written estimate. If anything about the place is hard for your family, such as travel or who can stay with the patient, say so then. It is easier to plan around before the date is fixed.
Many people need medicines before or after surgery. Those are usually given as day-care chemotherapy at a CION centre, so you can often return to the one nearest home once you are discharged. Wound checks and the conversation about the tissue report can happen there too.
CION's Hyderabad centres are open Monday to Saturday, 9:30 AM to 6:00 PM. CION's team helps with cashless insurance and gives you a written estimate before you start. Bring your policy papers to the surgical consultation, because insurers often want approval before an operation is booked.
Myth
What is true: This fear makes families wait while the cancer grows. A biopsy is how the type of cancer is found, and planned surgery by a cancer surgeon is one of the main ways it is removed.
Myth
What is true: Removing cancer means taking the right amount of tissue and the right glands, so it does not come back at the edge. A surgeon who operates on cancer regularly plans for this from the start.
Myth
What is true: Often it is not. The tissue report may show that medicines or radiotherapy afterwards would lower the chance of the cancer returning. Follow-up check-ups matter for years.
Myth
What is true: For some cancers it means a quicker recovery. For others an open operation is safer and more complete. Ask your surgeon which suits your tumour, and why.
Myth
What is true: Age alone rarely decides it. Fitness does. A person in their seventies with a strong heart and lungs may cope well, while a younger person with serious illness may not. The fitness checks before surgery answer this for your own family member.

Tell the care team what your report says. They book one of the five surgical oncologists, Dr. Imaduddin Mohammed, Dr. Sandeep Vajja, Dr. Muralidhar Muddusetty, Dr. Vinay Mamidala or Dr. Sridhar Kamani, at a centre and on a day that suit you. You can also ask for a surgeon by name.
No. The centres are for consultations, day-care chemotherapy and follow-up. The operation is done at a hospital the care team books for you. You are told its name, how to reach it, and the written estimate before you agree.
Ask this at the consultation, and expect a plain answer naming who will operate. If more than one surgeon is involved, for example in a long operation, the team explains who does what before the date is fixed.
Yes, and it is sensible before any major operation. Bring the scans, the biopsy report and the surgical plan you were given. A CION surgical oncologist will tell you whether they would do the same, and why, without any obligation.
It depends on the cancer. Some need prompt surgery. Others are safer with medicines first. A short wait to get the plan right rarely changes the outcome, while a rushed operation can limit later choices. Your surgeon explains the timing for your own case.
CION's team helps with cashless insurance and gives you a written estimate before you start. Bring the policy papers to the surgical consultation, as the insurer usually needs approval before the operation. Mention any government or employer scheme so it can be checked.
Usually at a CION centre in Hyderabad, often the one nearest home. The surgeon reviews the wound and the tissue report, and if medicines are needed afterwards, they can often be given as day-care at the same centre.
Yes. Many families start this way when the patient is unwell or far from the city. The surgeon can explain what the reports suggest, but must examine the patient before deciding whether an operation is possible.
