Chemotherapy is mostly day-care, so there is no ward bill for the night.
Not always possible
Where more than one reasonable treatment exists, the oncologist explains each, including what it would cost and what it would add. A newer medicine is not always the right one for your cancer.
Consultations and chemotherapy happen here. An operation and radiotherapy do not. For those, your CION doctors plan the treatment, and the care team names the centre that gives it and shares its estimate before you agree.
Many cancers need more than one kind of treatment. When the tumour board plans all of it at the start, the family sees the full picture before the first dose. You are not caught out by a second large bill for radiotherapy or an operation later.

Start with a Consultation
Ask for the doctor you want, or we’ll match you.

The care team asks what was found, at which hospital, and what insurance or scheme the family holds. They book a time with Dr. T. Raghavender Reddy.

Biopsy reports, scan CDs, blood tests and discharge summaries in one folder, with insurance and scheme cards. Clear, recent tests often do not need repeating.

The oncologist reads every report, examines the patient and orders only the tests that would change the plan.

Medical, surgical and radiation oncologists agree one plan together. Because the whole course is decided at once, the family is not asked to pay for a new opinion each time something changes, and any part given at another centre is named at this stage.

You receive the expected cost in writing, with help on the cashless claim. Treatment starts only when you agree.
Planned: One team and one tumour board plan
Planned: Bringing every report to the first visit
Planned: Day-care where the evidence allows
Planned: A written estimate before treatment
Myth
What is true: A first consultation is a single visit, not a commitment. You leave with a clear idea of what is needed and, once the plan is agreed, a written estimate. You decide after that.
Myth
What is true: When the tumour board plans the whole course at once, any radiotherapy or operation is part of the plan from the start, and the care team shares its estimate before you agree.
Myth
What is true: Many policies cover parts of cancer treatment. Have your policy checked against your own plan before you assume it will not help.
Myth
What is true: Cancer that is left can grow, and more advanced cancer usually needs more treatment for longer. That tends to cost the family more, not less.

It depends on the type of cancer, its stage, the treatment chosen and any hospital stay, so one number would mislead most families. After the consultation and the tumour board, you get a written estimate for your own plan before anything starts, along with help on any cashless insurance claim.
Medical oncologist Dr. T. Raghavender Reddy sees patients at CION L.B. Nagar. He holds a DM in medical oncology and an MD in radiation oncology, and reviews cases at the tumour board with CION's surgical and radiation oncologists. Call ahead to check he is in.

Yes. CION's team helps with cashless insurance and gives you a written estimate before you start. Bring the insurance card, the policy papers and the patient's ID to the first visit, and the team will help you send what the insurer asks for.
We cannot say until it is checked. Tell the care team about the scheme when you call and bring the card. They will find out what it may cover for your treatment and tell you plainly. Only the scheme can confirm cover.

Often, yes. A recent, clear scan or biopsy report may not need to be repeated. Bring everything, including the reports you think are too old. The oncologist repeats a test only if it is unclear, out of date or would change the plan.
Yes. Bring the plan and every report behind it. An oncologist will say whether they agree, whether a simpler option exists and why. It is a small step next to a whole course of treatment, and it does not tie you to treatment at CION.
