1Which cancer surgeon sees patients at CION Tolichowki?
Dr. Imaduddin Mohammed, Head of Surgical Oncology at
CION, sees patients at CION Tolichowki. Dr. Muralidhar Muddusetty is
part of the same CION surgical team, and the care team tells you where
and when he sees patients. Call the helpline to book a suitable
time.
2The centre is inside Premier Hospital. Will I be operated on there?
Do not assume so. CION Tolichowki does not perform
operations. Your care team names the hospital where your operation takes
place, and tells you how far it is from you, before your family agrees
to anything.
3My father has a sore in his mouth that will not heal. Should he see a surgeon?
A sore or patch in the mouth that has not healed
after a couple of weeks should be seen by a specialist soon, especially
if he chews tobacco or smokes. Many such sores are harmless. A surgeon
can examine it and decide whether a biopsy is needed.
4Is chemotherapy available at the Tolichowki centre?
Yes. Chemotherapy is given at CION Tolichowki,
usually as day-care. If your plan needs it before or after surgery, a
medical oncologist plans it using the same records as your surgeon, so
the timing of each step is agreed between them.
5Can I bring a surgery plan from another hospital for review?
Yes. Bring the plan and every report behind it. The
surgeon will tell you whether they agree with the operation, the timing
and the approach, and explain any difference. A second opinion does not
tie you to having treatment at CION.
6How will I know the cost before the operation?
CION's team helps with cashless insurance and gives
you a written estimate before you start. Bring your insurance card and
policy papers to your first visit, so the team can check your cover
before the date is fixed.
7What are the opening hours at Tolichowki?
The centre is open Monday to Saturday, 9:30 AM to
6:00 PM. It is on Khader Bagh Road in Padmanabha Nagar, near the
Tolichowki bus stop. Call before you come to make sure the surgeon is
seeing patients that day.
8How often will I need follow-up after surgery?
Visits are close together at first, for wound checks
and the tissue report, and then spaced further apart. Your surgeon
gives you a schedule for your own cancer. Between visits, call the
helpline about any new lump, bleeding, weight loss or pain.
