The care team asks what has been found, where, and what insurance or scheme the family holds. They book a time with Dr. Owais Mohammed.

Bring every biopsy report, scan CD, blood test and discharge summary. Recent, clear results usually do not need to be repeated, which saves the cost of doing them again.

The oncologist reads everything, examines the patient and explains what is known. Only the tests that would change the plan are ordered.

Medical, surgical and radiation oncologists agree one plan for the whole course, including any part given at another centre.

You receive the expected cost on paper, with help on any cashless claim. The family decides before treatment starts.
Every case goes to CION’s network tumour board, where these specialists from CION’s centres join your doctor. Ask for any of them when you book.

Start with a Consultation
Ask for the doctor you want, or we’ll match you.
Consultations and chemotherapy are given at CION Tolichowki. An operation and radiotherapy are not. Your CION doctors plan them, and the care team names the centre that gives them and shares its estimate before you agree.
Most chemotherapy is given as day-care. Blood counts are checked, the medicine is given, and the patient goes home that evening. There is no overnight ward bill. Some medicines do need a stay, and the oncologist tells you in advance if yours is one of them.
CION's team helps with cashless insurance and gives you a written estimate before you start. If the family holds a government or employer scheme, tell the care team. They check what it may cover and tell you plainly, without promising cover the scheme has not confirmed.
Many cancers need more than one kind of treatment. When the tumour board plans all of it at the start, the family sees every part of the cost before the first dose. You are not caught out by a second large bill for an operation or radiotherapy later in the course.
Targeted and immune medicines can cost far more than older chemotherapy. For some cancers they make a real difference. For others, the older medicine works as well. Dr. Owais Mohammed can tell you which applies to you, and why.
CION Cancer Clinics, 12-2-718, Khader Bagh Road, inside Premier Hospital, Padmanabha Nagar, Toli Chowki, Hyderabad 500008. It is near the Tolichowki bus stop. The centre is open Monday to Saturday, 9:30 AM to 6:00 PM.
Good to know
This page cannot tell you what your treatment will cost. Your reports and a consultation can.
Small habits, kept up through the whole course, add up to a real difference in the total.
Every report, scan CD and bill in one place. Bring it to every visit so nothing is repeated for want of a paper.
Tell the oncologist at the first visit if money is tight. It helps them plan the order of tests and keep more treatment in day-care.
Insurance, an employer scheme, a government card. Tell the care team about all of them on the first call.
Where more than one reasonable treatment exists, ask what each would add, and what each would cost.
A useful question
If another hospital has given you a plan and a figure, ask for a second opinion before you commit to it.
Myth
What is true: Many families decide this before seeing any estimate. Insurance, a scheme the family already holds and day-care treatment can change the figure a great deal. Ask for the written estimate first.
Myth
What is true: Most chemotherapy is day-care. The patient goes home the same evening. The oncologist tells you in advance if a stay is needed.
Myth
What is true: It is a small cost next to a full course of treatment, and it can show whether a simpler plan would do.
Myth
What is true: Cost is part of the plan. Stopping halfway for lack of money is far harder on the patient than an honest talk at the start.

That depends on her type of cancer, its stage, the treatment chosen and whether she needs a hospital stay. After the consultation and the tumour board, you receive a written estimate for her plan before anything starts. Bring every report so nothing is repeated without need.
