Day-care chairs
Chemotherapy is mostly given in a day-care chair while nurses watch over the patient, who then goes home the same day. There is no ward bill for the night.
They plan treatment with surgeons and radiation doctors at a tumour board, so it is planned once. Call to check where and when your doctor is in.

Other CION centres in Hyderabad

Say what has been found and which hospital found it. Mention any insurance or scheme the family holds. The care team books a time with Dr. Owais Mohammed.

Biopsy reports, scan CDs, blood tests, discharge summaries and insurance or scheme cards. Recent, clear tests usually do not need to be paid for again.

The oncologist orders only the tests that would change the plan. The tumour board then agrees one plan for the whole course.

You receive the expected cost in writing, with help on any cashless claim, and decide as a family before anything starts.
None of these changes the price of a medicine. They keep the family from paying for things that add nothing to the care.

CION's team helps with cashless insurance and gives you a written estimate before you start. Bring the card and the policy papers.
If the family holds a government or employer scheme, the care team checks what it may cover. They tell you plainly and do not promise cover the scheme has not confirmed.
Where more than one reasonable treatment exists, the oncologist explains each, including what it would add and what it would cost.
Worth asking
If another hospital has already given you a plan and a figure, an oncologist here can review it and say whether a simpler option exists.
Every case goes to CION’s network tumour board, where these specialists from CION’s centres join your doctor. Ask for any of them when you book.

Start with a Consultation
Ask for the doctor you want, or we’ll match you.
The expected cost of your agreed plan, on paper, before treatment. It is not a fixed bill, and the team tells you what could change it.
The insurer pays the centre directly for what the policy covers, and the family pays the rest.
Treatment given during the day, with the patient home by evening.
Medical, surgical and radiation oncologists reviewing your case together and agreeing one plan.
Another oncologist's review of a plan you were given elsewhere, before you commit to it.
Consultations and chemotherapy are given at CION Masab Tank. An operation and radiotherapy are not. Your CION doctors plan them, and the care team names the centre that gives them and shares its estimate before you agree.
Because the tumour board plans every part of the treatment at the start, the family can see the full cost picture early. When chemotherapy will be followed by an operation or radiotherapy, you know that before the first dose, not halfway through.
Say so before treatment starts. Sometimes another reasonable treatment exists, more of it can be given as day-care, or insurance can carry more of the cost. An honest talk at the start is far better than stopping treatment halfway.
CION Cancer Clinics, 10-1-1, Utkoor - Mogdumpur Road, AC Guards, Lakdikapul, Hyderabad 500028. It is close to Lakdikapul Metro and near the Masab Tank bus stop. The centre is open Monday to Saturday, 9:30 AM to 6:00 PM.
Families from Lakdikapul, Khairatabad, Basheer Bagh, Nampally, Himayat Nagar and Mehdipatnam often find Masab Tank the easiest centre to reach. That matters, because treatment can mean many visits, and a short trip costs less each time.
Good to know
This page cannot tell you what your treatment will cost. A consultation with your reports can.
Myth
What is true: It is one of the most useful questions you can ask. A doctor who knows the family's limits can plan the order of tests with care and keep more treatment in day-care.
Myth
What is true: Older policies often still cover parts of cancer treatment. Let the care team check it against your plan before you decide.
Myth
What is true: At this centre chemotherapy is mostly given in a day-care chair. The patient goes home the same day. Your oncologist tells you in advance if a stay is needed.
Myth
What is true: Cancer that is left can grow and need more treatment for longer, which usually costs more. A first consultation tells you where you stand.

It depends on the type of cancer, its stage, the treatment chosen and whether a hospital stay is needed. That is why no figure appears here. After the consultation and the tumour board, you receive a written estimate for your own plan, before treatment starts, and help with any cashless claim.
Medical oncologist Dr. Owais Mohammed sees patients at CION Masab Tank. He plans chemotherapy and other cancer medicines and reviews cases at the tumour board with CION's surgical and radiation oncologists. Call ahead so he is in on the day you plan to come.
You get your medicine in a day-care chair while nurses watch over you, then go home the same day. Blood counts are checked first. Because there is no overnight stay, there is no ward bill. If your medicine needs a stay, you are told in advance.
CION's team helps with cashless insurance and gives you a written estimate before you start. Bring the insurance card, the policy papers and the patient's ID to the first visit. The team tells you what the insurer needs and helps you send it.
It may. Tell the care team about the scheme when you call and bring the card or letter. They will check what it may cover for the treatment in your plan and tell you honestly. Only the scheme itself can confirm cover, so we do not promise it.

Neither is done at Masab Tank. If your plan includes one, your CION doctors plan it and the care team names the centre that does it. You are told where it is and given its estimate before you agree, so the whole cost is clear early.
Yes, every one, including scan CDs and old discharge summaries. Recent, clear results often do not need to be repeated. The oncologist orders a new test only if the old one is unclear, out of date or would change the plan.
